3 Day Diet

Does the 3 day diet plan work?

Quick weight loss is promised by many different types of diets, including the 3 day diet. However, many people are left wondering how effective and how long-lasting this type of diet can be. An effective 3 day diet plan sounds far-fetched to many who continue to battle the bulge.

What many dieters don't realize is that the 3 day miracle diet isn't a miracle at all, and it takes more than 3 days. The 3 day diet practice is to follow a strict meal plan for three days before resuming more flexible eating habits for a week or so and then returning to another 3 days of dieting.

3 Day Diet Promises

3 day diet info promises that dieters can lose up to 10 pounds in 3 days. However, most medical professionals suggest that the weight that is lost is simply fluid, which will easily be regained when you resume normal eating habits. That's why dieters are encouraged to repeat the 3 day diet after a number of days.

While no exercise or lifestyle changes are included in the 3 day diet plan, portion sizes and foods allowed are supposed to be strictly followed. Dieters are instructed not to overeat, but also not to under-eat what is outlined in the menu.

The 3 Day Diet Trend

3 day diets can be found for many different types of people. There are 3 day diets to help diabetics manage their blood sugar, a 3 day diet for people looking to reduce cholesterol or blood pressure, and even a 3 day cardiac diet, which is used for people who need to quickly lose around 10 pounds in order to prepare for surgery.

Some people also refer to the hospital diet, which is a more common term for 3 day meal plans designed to reduce fluid retention, lose a few pounds, and reduce strain on the heart in preparation for medical procedures.

However, none of these diets are recommended as a long-term solution to weight loss and, in fact, may actually cause damage to the body if repeated too frequently. The highly restricted intake doesn't provide your body with all the vitamins and nutrients necessary for healthy living and that's why you aren't supposed to stay on the diet for more than 3 days and shouldn't repeat the diet within a 10 day period.
